Arson is defined as the
conscious lighting of fire to an object or place. When a person sets fire to
their home in order to collect insurance, this is an example of arson. Arson is
a legal term that refers to a statutory misdemeanour, and an arsonist is a somebody
who has been convicted of that conduct. One of the heinous crimes perpetrated
by the perpetrator is arson. The cause of the fire must be discovered in order
to prove that arson was committed. Arson is a one-of-a-kind crime in that
evidence can be destroyed on the spot; nonetheless, a thorough investigation
may provide enough evidence to determine the cause. As a result, every fire
scene should be treated as a potential arson crime until the source of the fire
is established to be natural or unintentional. Arson fires are difficult to
investigate and prosecute for two reasons: they are frequently carried out in
secret, and much of the evidence is lost. Lack of investigation techniques leads to chance of
contamination of evidences, so to minimize this drawback the investigators
needs to follow actual procedures.
